Chelsea confirms Bergstrom’s return from loan

Chelsea on Tuesday confirmed that their young goalkeeper, Lucas Bergstrom has returned to the club from his loan spell at Swedish side IF Brommapojkarna.

The Blues disclosed this in a statement on their website.

“Lucas Bergstrom has returned from his loan at Swedish side IF Brommapojkarna,” Chelsea’s statement read.

Bergstrom had signed a new deal with the Premier League west London club and joined IF Brommapojkarna on loan in February.

His loan spell was initially set to last until January 2025.

However, the 21-year-old has seen that loan cut short and returns to Chelsea ahead of pre-season.

Bergstrom made four appearances in all competitions for the Scandinavian side during his time with them.

He will hope to be part of new head coach Enzo Maresca’s squad heading to the United States of America on pre-season tour later this summer.
