Mikel, speaking on the Obi One Podcast, expressed confidence that Chelsea could secure the striker in the future. “We were very close to finalizing the deal. It was just minor issues that prevented us from completing it,” Mikel said. “If we revisit this in January or next summer, we know what needs to be addressed.”

Osimhen ultimately joined Galatasaray on loan for the 2024-25 season. Mikel remains optimistic that Chelsea can overcome the obstacles that prevented the transfer and bring Osimhen to Stamford Bridge in the upcoming window.
