Chelsea has revived talks for a loan deal to acquire Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, according to the London Evening Standard.
Osimhen is now a key target for Chelsea as they look to add a top-notch forward to their squad.
Although Osimhen has expressed a preference for a move to Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea remains hopeful of convincing him to join them at Stamford Bridge.
Recently, Osimhen turned down an offer from Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia, with his agent noting that the 25-year-old aims to accomplish more in Europe before considering a move outside the continent.
Chelsea’s renewed interest in Osimhen underscores their commitment to strengthening their attacking options for the upcoming season.
With his impressive goal-scoring record, Osimhen would be a significant asset to Chelsea’s forward line.
Meanwhile, PSG may yet be busy in the final days of the current transfer window.
With Milan Skriniar all set to move to Saudi Arabia, just one year after joining PSG, a centre-back could yet arrive between now and the transfer deadline in four days. However, as reported by Le Parisien, two players aren’t expected to arrive at the Parc des Princes: Victor Osimhen and Jadon Sancho.
PSG informed the latter’s representatives last week that they wouldn’t be taking their interest any further, at least not during the current window.
Osimhen was a more concrete target earlier in the window, with the Nigerian forward reportedly keen to make the move to the Parc des Princes.
It was thought that Gonçalo Ramos’ injury, which is set to rule him out for several months, would see the interest in Osimhen reignited, but not so.
Despite that injury, PSG did not reignite their interest and there was no further contact with the Napoli forward, who still remains a target for Chelsea.
