Napoli’s attempts to offload Victor Osimhen in a swap deal for Romelu Lukaku have hit another setback, with Chelsea now shifting their focus to Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion.
The Partenopei are unable to secure Lukaku, Antonio Conte’s top target, until Osimhen is sold.
Despite lowering Osimhen’s release clause from €120m to €100m plus bonuses, there have been no offers from interested parties such as Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal.
Napoli had hoped to facilitate an exchange with Chelsea for Lukaku, but transfer experts Gianluca Di Marzio and Fabrizio Romano report that Chelsea is now considering Atletico Madrid’s Omorodion.

The Spain Under-21 international, who recently turned 20 and spent last season on loan at Deportivo Alaves, has expressed a desire to stay with Atleti.
He had also been linked with Roma and Milan earlier in the summer, but would be available for €50m.
Romano claims the initial proposal is just €35m, which will not be enough to convince player or club.
At the same time, the Corriere dello Sport had reported yesterday that Osimhen was not exactly enthusiastic about the idea of joining Chelsea anyway.
