Chelsea’s ex-coach, Tuchel speaks on coaching national team

Date:

Former Chelsea head coach, Thomas Tuchel, has dropped a fresh hint that he would like to coach a national team after the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Tuchel would certainly be interested in the England job if it becomes available after the World Cup in Qatar, as Gareth Southgate’s contract with the Three Lions will expire in 2024.

The German was sacked by Chelsea in September and is thought to have turned down several roles, including offers from Aston Villa and Bayer Leverkusen.

When asked if he would consider a job in international management, Tuchel said, as quoted by Metro: “Yeah, why not? I would, I would.

“I didn’t give it too much thought until now.

“But I would consider if it’s the right team and if it has the potential to win trophies like the World Cup and the Euros.”
