Chidozie Awaziem Makes Turkish League Team of the Week

Nigerian international and new Caykur Rizespor defender, Chidozie Awaziem has been included in the Turkish League Team of the Week following his impressive display for his side in their 1-0 win away at Erzurumspor, reports.

The 22-year-old becomes the third straight Nigerian to feature in the team of the week as compiled by following the inclusion of Henry Onyekuru and Anthony Nwakaeme who both made the list on match day’s 18 and 19 respectively.

Awaziem, who only started his first game for the relegation survivals, produced a standout display with a game rating of 7.6, making a game-high 6  clearances, 3 blocks and one interception. He also completed 100% of his tackles, 83% of his passes and also won eight of his nine duels.

One man who however narrowly missed out on the team of the week was Victor Moses who scored his first goal of the season but his substitute appearance did, however, limit his chances of making the team.

Awaziem led the defence line in a 4-4-2 formation, partnering Alexandru Epureanu whilst Stelios Kitsiou of Ankaragucu and Fenerbahce’s Ismail Koybasi completed the back four.
