Chukwu Appreciates Comforting Visit From Otedola

Rangers International of Enugu technical director, former Eagles’ captain and coach, ‘Chairman’ Christian Chukwu has expressed deep and strong appreciation over the visit to him by Lagos billionaire, Femi Otedola, at Wellington Hospital, Circus Road, St John’s Woods, London, where he is receiving treatment and recuperating after surgery.

The 68-year-old Rangers International of Enugu legend, who captained Nigeria to its first title in the Africa Cup of Nations, back in 1980, on home soil in Lagos, said he is already overcoming prostate cancer, which first landed him at a hospital in The Coal City early last month.

Chukwu was flown to London courtesy the intervention of Otedola, as the oil mogul fulfilled his promise of $50,000 to the Nigerian soccer icon, for expert attention in the United Kingdom.

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Amaju Melvin Pinnick was also part of the delegation that visited Chukwu, who coached Rangers to sixth place in the 2009 edition of the Nigeria Premier League.

The NFF took to social media to reveal a photograph of Chukwu and his wife, Lilian Nkeiruka, with Otedola and Pinnick during Tuesday’s visit to the hospital, where he is said to be recuperating.

The post via the official handle @thenff read: “@realFemiOtedola visits recuperating former @NGSuperEagles coach, Christian Chukwu at the Wellington Hospital, Circus Road, St John’s Woods London.”
