Chukwu Scores As Wolfsberger Fall 2-1 To BW Linz

AC Wolfsberger defender, Emmanuel Chukwu nodded home what turned out to be a consolation goal for his Austrian club, Wolfsberger as they fell 2-1 away to BW Linz in an Austrian Bundesliga league match played Sunday.

Chukwu, though was introduced as a 46th minute substitute for B. Matic in the match, however he managed to find a way to help his side reduce the deficit 2-1 after the home team had gone 2-0 ahead to make the scoreline more honourable.

The 19-year-old Nigerian defender on loan at Wolfsberger from TSG Hoffenheim Germany, has continued to grow in confidence since joining the club, which commanding performances such as this may guarantee him regular starting actions as he continues to develop his game and garner more experience.

The former Grassrunners FC skipper scored in the added time of the 90mins to ensure his team didn’t leave the game without registering a goal.

The goal is Chukwu’s first for the club which makes it very significant even though he would have wished they won.

He was also in action as a substitute in a 2-1 defeat against RB Salzburg on December 14, 2025.

Chukwu has recorded 7 appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga and 1 in the ÖFB Cup this season for the club.
