Chukwueze dreaming AFCON 2024 triumph in Cote D’Ivoire

Samuel Chukwueze is dreaming about winning the Africa Cup of Nations title with the Super Eagles.

The Super Eagles last won the AFCON in 2013, and the closest they’ve got to another title since then was a third place finish in 2019.

Last year in Cameroon, they crashed out in to Tunisia in the round of 16.

“We want to win the AFCON for sure, because we have great pool of young talents and we have young players, who are actually ready to fight,” Chukwueze told ESPN.

“For me, I need to win a trophy with the Super Eagles because I cannot play to the end of my career without winning any trophy with the Super Eagles. This is our time,” he concluded.

To win the next Cup of Nations, the Super Eagles must qualify for the tournament first.

They face Sierra Leone in Monrovia on Sunday, and a point will be enough to guarantee the team a place in the tournament to be hosted by Cote D’Ivoire.
