Chukwueze Gains More Praise From Etama Meyer

Villarreal of Spain winger, Samuel Chukwueze has gained more praiuse from former Arsenal star, Lauren Etame Mayer, who believes the Super Eagles’ rookie keeps showing potentials beyond his age.

Lauren, who hails from Cameroon but also made waves in Spain during his heyday, noted that Chuikwueze was on fire over the past weekend, as the youngster again dazzled for The Yellow Submarine.

Mayer noted that Chukwueze did not start the previous weekend, but noted that the lad’s return to the first 11 on Sunday, in Villarreal’s 3-1 whipping of Rayo Vallecano showed the depth he gives the club’s coach.

The Gunners’ legend went on to heap praises on Chukwuueze for his all-round performance at Estadio de la Cerámica, as the Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup gold medalist twinkled alongside Santi Cazorla and Toko Ekambi, who netted a brace inb their team’s victory.

Chukwueze got his first start since January 12, when his side lost 2-1 to Getafe, and Meyer noted the impact the Nigerian youngster played in helping his side beat Uche Agbo’s Vallecano and step out of relegation.

En route to helping his side climb to 17th place on the table, Chukwueze was on for 84 minutes, before he was replaced by Pablo Fornals, and the verdict from Mayer, who was a TV analyst for the game, is that the kid of yesterday is fast becoming a pivotal player at Villarreal.

“The momentum is there. They were very good. They scored a quick goal and they managed to score the second and third goals.

“If they manage to keep Ekambi and Gerrard Moreno also Santi Cazorla and Samuel Chukwueze, they can do something different,” Mayer said.
