Villarreal of Spain winger, Samuel Chukwueze could end up becoming the costliest sale by the club, as latest reports indicate The Yellow Sub marine will not sell him for less than €63m.
Should any club agree to cough out that amount for Chukwueze this summer, it means his selling figure will outweigh all previous figures from the team that once had Ikechukwu Uche on their cards.
It means Chukwueze would end up bettering the previous highest mark of €40m Villarreal got from Manchester United for Ivorien defender, Eric Bailly, as well as their second most lucrative departure, Cedric Bakambu, who moved to Beijing Guoan of China for €37m.
Chukwueze has been outstanding in the struggling team this season and Villarreal are not bound to sell him for cheap at all, as they seek to reap a huge profit on the Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup gold medalist, who has also been linked with Arsenal of England.
After The Gunners stalled on signing Chukwueze after his exploits with the Eaglets in Chile, Villarreal signed him for €500,000 in 2016, but are now set to get multiples above that on his departure.
This is mostly due to reports that The Yellow Submarine inserted an upbeat release clause of €63m into Chukwueze’s contract, when he renewed his professional deal with them this past summer.
