Chukwueze: Playing For Eagles Was My Dream Come True

Villarreal of Spain youngster, Samuel Chukwueze has declared that he had a dream come true by playing for the Super Eagles in Tuesday’s international friendly against Uganda.

Although he could not replicate his recent goals scoring form in La Liga and Copa del Rey for Nigeria, Chukwueze said he felt on top of the world to even start against Uganda at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.

Chukwueze, who was part of the Golden Eaglets’ Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup-winning team, stated further that he felt like he was in a dream,. but was happy that he finally settled down to play well.

After eemrging with top marks from the encounter in Asaba, the natural left-footer admitted he will love to get more opportunities to don Nigeria’s green-and-white jersey at senior level.

Chukwueze disclosed: ‘It was a dream come true for me to play for the Super Eagles.

“In fact, I was actually first surprised by the call up at this point in time and I did not even get myself early in the match.

“Now that the first match has come and gone, I will do all I can to get a regular call up by putting up good performances with my club.

“Although I could not score in Tuesday’s match, which ended goalless, I will do my very best when the next opportunity comes.”
