Nigeria’s Samuel Chukwueze was among the scorers when Villarreal bashed third division side, Club Deportivo Santa Amalia 9-0 in a first round fixture of the Copa Del Rey.
The Nigerian winger scored a brace on 47 and 49 minutes of the game.
It was his fifth goal in 21 matches across all competitions so far this season and his seventh in 12 appearances since he made a scoring debut in the competition in Villarreal’s 3-3 draw with Almeria in the first leg of the intermediate stage in November 2018.
The 23 year old has also equalled his season’s best goal tally in the competition with his two goals. It is also the first time the Nigerian will score a brace in the competition.
Chukwueze has now scored 29 goals in 179 games for Villarreal across all competitions since he signed a senior contract with the club in November 2018.
