Stefano Pioli has officially said goodbye to AC Milan and embarked on a new chapter in Saudi Arabia.
The Italian coach, who brought Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze to Milan in 2023, has been appointed as the new manager of Al-Nassr, teaming up with football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Saudi club announced the news in a unique and nostalgic way, using the familiar “Pioli is on fire” chant that Milan fans often sang in his honor.
This musical tribute served as the perfect backdrop for the social media reveal, creating an immediate connection to Pioli’s successful tenure at Milan.
Pioli’s departure from Milan was finalized earlier when he signed the termination of his contract, which originally ran until June 30, 2025.
This mutual agreement allows Milan to save approximately 10 million euros in gross salaries for Pioli and his staff.
The move to Al-Nassr comes with a significant financial package for Pioli. He has signed a three-year contract, keeping him at the club until June 30, 2027, with a reported annual net salary of around €7 million.
Pioli’s appointment comes on the heels of the dismissal of Portuguese coach Luis Castro, who was let go following recent disappointing results – draws against Al-Ahli in the league and Al-Shorta in the Asian Champions League.
