Nigeria Coach, Jose Peseiro has arrived in Cape Coast, Ghana in support of the Super Eagles B who are hours away from taking on the Galaxies as Nigeria and rivals Ghana battle for a place in Algeria 2023 CHAN final tournament.
Peseiro who arrived in the Ghanaian city Sunday morning promptly got in touch with Coach Salisu Yusuf and his assistants. The Eagles B Coach, Salisu explained his presence of the Portuguese in Ghana.
“Yes, he is here with us now but he doesn’t have any direct role on the pitch. He will not be on the bench but would watch from the stands, giving the team every possible support. His moral support is huge for the team.
“Also remember that this also an extension of the national team. He has already worked with a number of these players with the main and now has the opportunity to see the others for himself in a real match situation,” Salisu said just as the team began their Team Talk ahead of the 4pm (5pm Nigeria) fixture.
Peseiro is resident in a different hotel from the team.
The return leg of the match will hold at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Saturday, September 3rd. The winner, using the aggregate scores, will pick the ticket to CHAN 2023 in Algeria.
