Nigeria’s Falconets secured a spot in the second round of the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup with a 3-0 victory over Venezuela.
Under Chris Danjuma’s leadership, the team finished second in Group D, just behind Germany.
Both teams ended with six points from three matches, but Germany advanced due to a superior goal difference.
Nigeria took the lead through Aminat Bello in the 16th minute with Chiamaka Okwuchukwu providing the assist.
The West Africans doubled their advantage 12 minutes later with Okwuchukwu nodding home from Olusola Shobowale’s corner-kick.

It was Osuchukwu’s second goal of the tournament.
Diminutive winger Flourish Sabastine netted the third goal in first-half added time.
Sabastine has now scored twice in three appearances for Nigeria.
The Falconets further extended their lead late in the match, with substitute Joe Igbokwe striking from distance to make the scoreline even more convincing.
