Colombia 2024: NFF Urges Falconets to Strive Hard for Success

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau, has delivered a motivational message to the Falconets, urging them to maintain focus and discipline as they prepare for the upcoming 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Under the guidance of coach Chris Danjuma, the Falconets are currently undergoing intensive training at the NFF/FIFA Goal Project in Abuja. They are slated to compete in Group D alongside formidable opponents Germany, Venezuela, and Korea Republic in the upcoming tournament.

The Falconets, who reached the quarter-finals in the last edition of the competition, are aiming to surpass their previous achievements. President Gusau expressed confidence in the team’s potential to aim for the top honors this time around.

“I am aware of our country’s pedigree in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. Your predecessors have won the silver medal twice and reached the semi-finals once. Now is the time for the ultimate,” Gusau emphasized during his visit to the team’s training session on Monday.

He emphasized the importance of discipline, hard work, dedication, focus, and a bit of luck in achieving success on the global stage. Gusau reassured the team of the NFF’s unwavering support and encouragement towards their quest for excellence.

The 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup will take place in Colombia from August 31 to September 22, 2024, where the Falconets will seek to make their mark against international competition.
