Antonio Rudiger has backed his former teammate, Umar Sadiq to come back stronger from his injury setback.
The Real Sociedad forward was diagnosed with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament on Monday.
The Nigeria international was substituted in the first half of Real Sociedad’s 2-1 defeat at Getafe on Sunday night.
The 25-year-old is now expected to miss the remainder of the 2022/23 campaign as he will be sidelined for around eight months.
Rudiger, who was Sadiq’s teammate during their time at Serie A club, AS Roma has wished his old friend quick recovery from the injury.
“Stay strong my brother, Almighty knows why. Come back stronger,” Rudiger posted on Instagram.
Sadiq joined Real Sociedad from Almeria on transfer deadline day.
He scored on his debut for the White and Blue against Atletico Madrid.
