Commonwealth Games 2022: Lawal wins Team Nigeria’s second gold medal Team Nigeria wins Bronze in Weightlifting, qualify for table tennis semis

Edidiong Umofia has won Team Nigeria’s second medal at the ongoing 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Umofia clinched Bronze medal in the weightlifting event.

In the men’s 67kg category, Umoafia lifted a combined 290kg (Snatch, Clean and Jerk) to get on the podium.

India’s Jeremy Lalrinnunga won Gold medal in the event.

Adijat Olarinoye won Nigeria’s first medal at the Games on Saturday.

She won Gold medal in the weightlifting event.

In the Men’s Table Tennis event, Team Nigeria qualified for the semi-final after a hard-fought 3-2 win against Malaysia.
