Dele-Bashiru Set To Leave Manchester City

Manchester City youngster, Tom Dele-Bashiru is on the verge of leaving The Citizens, as the Etihad club appear ready to lay him off.

However, Dele-Bashiru will be leaving City for free, as the club failed to reach agreement with his father and agent on a new contract for the youngster.

The 19-year-old Dele-Bashiru is in the final six months of his contract at Etihad Stadium and able to talk to foreign clubs, among which are Serie A side, Atalanta, who are interested in the battling midfielder.

Dele-Bashiru has made just one first team appearance under Man City boss, Pep Guardiola, in last season’s Carabao Cup, away to Leicester City, but he has played for the under-21s in this year’s Checkatrade Trophy.

City were not able to match the sort of financial package Dele-Bashiru had been hoping for and will depart the club he joined at the age of six.

Guardiola’s staff do not see a long-term future for the academy product, while City also had difficulties when offering him a professional contract.

The player’s father, Bamidele Bashiru, blasted the club in 2016, as he said back then: “Discussions have broken down with Manchester City and I know other clubs are interested in Tom.

“We always wanted to give Manchester City first option on keeping Tom, but we are now willing to talk to other clubs.

“We opened discussions over his professional contract but we did not accept the offer as we were not happy with the offer and unfortunately then they came back with a lower offer.

“We are not happy with the way Tom has been treated in all this and I think it is disgusting.

“Tom has shown he is one the best in his age group in the country and if Manchester City do not value him we are happy to go elsewhere.”
