Delta Agog For Football Fiesta

Date:

*host FA cup finals, female super6, NNL super8
*As Warri Wolves play FA semis 2moro in Lagos

Delta State, the undisputed home of sports in Nigeria, is setting the stage to host three key soccer competitions culminating in the grand finale of the historic FA cup, christened the federation cup.

And what an icing on the cake if Warri Wolves would overcome the challenge of Bendel Insurance of Benin in one of tomorrow’s semi-finals at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.

But, before the FA cup finals showdown, the season ending super six of the female football league will take centre stage at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba and the Admiralty University of Nigeria on Ibusa/Ogwashi Express Way, between June 9 and 18 for the emergence of the best female football club.

Teams in the fray for the coveted trophy include: the defending champions, Bayelsa Queens, Edo Queens, FC Robbo, Confluence Queens, Rivers Angels and host, Delta Queens.

Just as the Super Six is drawing to a close, eight teams from the Nigerian National League (NNL)) will trade tackles for their own version of the Super 8.

It’s going to be a season of fun and entertainment for lovers of the beautiful game as packaged by Delta State.
