Heavenly gifted and grossly experienced Project Director of Dunamis Icon, Mr. Fred Edore, has described the Niger Delta Games as a wonderful platform for discovering, nurturing and developing young talents from the grassroots across the region.
Speaking while inaugurating the seven-man Delta State Liaison Committee for the 2nd edition of the Niger Delta Games, Edore explained that only indigenous athletes would be allowed to represent their respective states, a deliberate policy aimed at giving local talents the opportunity to be identified and nurtured.
He further revealed that the Games is strictly an age-grade competition, with participation limited to athletes under the age of 20.

Edore also urged the various state governments to give full support to their contingents to ensure a smooth and successful outing at the Games.

He lauded the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and the Games’ consultants, Dunamis Icon, for taking a significant financial burden off the states, and advocated for stronger collaboration among participating states.
