Depressed Tweet: Asizat Oshoala causes stir on social media

Date:

Nigeria’s Falcon Captain, Asisat Oshoala, Thursday caused a stir with her perceived depressed post on Twitter.

In the cryptic tweet, the FC Barcelona Femení striker wrote, “Life is just unfair…. tired of trying.”

Although her depressing tweet was deleted moments later, it did little to assuage the fear and panic it created.

Recall that Oshoala lost her mother last year and only recently recovered from a serious injury.

The 27-year-old lanky forward has been in a spectacular form for her club, notching six goals in her last four games.

She is also the highest goal scorer in the La Liga female league.

Curiously, this is not the first Oshoala would be posting such depressing tweets.

A post she made in 2015, same year that she won the BBC women’s footballer of the year award had raised similar concerns over her mental health.

“I’m tired of life, I want to leave already,” she had written. The Nation
