Despite 1 year Unpaid Salary, Waldrum Arrives Turkey Ahead Falcons Friendlies

Super Falcons head coach , Randy Waldrum has arrived in Turkey, where the team will play Haiti and New Zealand in two international friendlies before the FIFA Women’s World Cup kicks off in July.

Super Falcons are scheduled to take on Haiti and New Zealand women’s national teams this week to help shape up the team better before the world cup.

However, according to Colin Udoh on his twitter handle, Waldrum still has a pending 12-month unpaid wages issues with the Nigeria Football Federation.

“Coach Randy Waldrum is off to Turkey with @NGSuper_Falcons for two friendlies next week, even though he has not yet been paid his $10, 000/month part time wages in the last 12 months. NFF say they’re working to pay him before the @FIFAWWC kicks off.” He wrote.

The 66 year-old is on a $10,000-per month salary, but the American and his Nigerian assistants are owed a year’s long wage.

The friendly matches are organised for the American coach perfect his strategy ahead of the World Cup in New Zealand and Australia.

Nigeria will open the World Cup campaign with Canada on 21st July before taking on Australia six days later. The last group game versus Republic of Ireland takes place on 31st July, 2023.
