The search for talents that will form the core of the Bayelsa Starlets U-15 Academy, an affiliate of FC Barcelona, has continued to gather momentum with beautiful display of soccer artistry by players of the participating teams in the tournament.
In the first of Wednesday’s hostilities at the Samson Siasia stadium in Yenagoa, High-flying Donbai United humbled Starlight FA by three goals to one. Goals from Okodo and a brace from Victory Independent as well as a consolation goal from Charles Daniel of Starlight FA settled the scoreline.
In the second game of the day, Ebiede FA of Amassoma edged out Opokuma FA by two goals to one. Bibo Ogbe put Opokuma FA in front 19 minutes into the game but Raymond Pere restored parity for Ebiede FA on 38 minutes before Makintosh Kurotimi made it 2-1 on 61 minutes to give Ebiede FA their first victory in the tournament.
Rising Stars defeated Dimaro FA by two goals to one in the third match of the day. Victory James put Dimaro FA ahead on 11 minutes but Rising Stars responded immediately through Greatness Wongo’s strike, Kempere Godswill doubled the lead on 20 minutes to ensure that Rising Stars FA went home with smiles on their faces.

Jebz International Soccer School beat Stardom Life by two goals to one. Goals from Emmanuel Precious and Onwuka Ifeanyi on 16 and 21 minutes, while Anderson Eladebi’s consolation goal gave Jebz SS the deserved victory.
FC Afini of Amarata defeated Kingdom Stars of Akenfa by two goals to one while Dominion City defeated Captain Jonathan by the same goal margin.
Some of the players, in separate interviews, expressed delight over their participation in the tournament, stating that the competition would expose many kids to international clubs in the near future.
They commended the organizers of the tournament for their vision in organizing the competition, describing the spectacle as a life-changing platform for the youths to realize their potentials.
Action will continue on Thursday, 16th July, 2026 as Donbai FC takes on Opokuma by 9.00am, Ebiede FA of Amassoma will keep a date with Starlight FA at 10.30am, Rising Stars will entertain Stardom Life at 12.00 noon just as Kingdom Stars battle Winchester City at 1.30pm.
