D’Tigers to depart for Libya on Sunday for AfroBasket Qualifiers

Nigeria’s D’Tigers will depart for Libya on Sunday to begin their final phase of preparations for the AfroBasket Championship qualifiers in Tripoli.

The home-based players, who have been training intensively in recent days, are scheduled to travel to Libya, where they will be joined by their foreign-based teammates.

Under the guidance of coach Abdulrahman Mohammed, D’Tigers are aiming to secure a spot in the AfroBasket tournament through the qualifiers.

Recently, the President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), Engr. Ahmadu Musa Kida, paid a goodwill visit to the D’Tigers’ camp in Abuja as they prepare for the 3rd Window of the AfroBasket Qualifiers, which will take place in Tripoli, Libya.

Kida was warmly welcomed by the players and expressed his satisfaction with their enthusiasm. He assured them of the NBBF’s ongoing support and encouragement.

He urged the players, who were selected from the Nigerian basketball league, to always give their best performance, reminding them that there is no distinction between them and the foreign-based players who will join the team in Tripoli.

Kida challenged the team to give their all in the upcoming qualifiers and make Nigeria proud. He also reassured them that the people of Nigeria are fully behind them as they head to Libya.
