Edose Ibadin Rates 5th In World 100m Indoors Log

Nigerian fast-rising sprinter, Edose Ibadin has emerged the country’s only athlete listed in the latest world indoor ratings, and he gets a career high fifth position on the log.

Ibadin’s massive surge in the global spotlight received another boost with his latest spot placement by International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).

It is another major step forward for the USA-based sprinter, whose progression charts in the regular circuit reads 200m (22.12secs on 22 March 2014), 400m (46.96 on, 14 April 2018), 800m (1:45.69, 02 June 2018), 1,500m (3:47.57, 30 March 2018), 4x400m relay (3:05.21, 31 May 2014), and 4x800m relay (7:29.80, 11 March 2016), all in the USA.

Edose, who narrowly missed a spot in the 800m semi-finals at the 2017 World Track and Field Championships in London. believes he still has a lot more to offer Nigeria, with high hopes of creating better marks on the global track and field scene.

The graduate of Hampdon University, USA said he was happy with what was his maiden outing for Nigeria back then, despite only managing to place sixth in his heat.

Edose noted that his collegiate accomplishments in the US boosted his breakthrough, and he quickly jumped at the opportunity to run for Nigeria, which he believes can help him realise his ambition to be at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
