Enyimba of Aba handler, Coach Usman Abdallah has sent words of appreciation to all his players for winning the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Super-6 championship play-off, addiing that his wards made him very happy on Wednesday.
Speaking in the wake of their 2-1 win over Akwa United of Uyo, which gave The Peoples Elephant an unassailable 12 points atop the Super-6 table, Abdallah said it was a well-deserved ending for the club, sequel to the huge determination with which his lads approached the game.
Abdallah added during Mega Sports on Star 101.5 FM, Lagos that the last match his team played at the Super-6 in Lagos was only a confirmation of the zeal whyich his players entred the competition from the word go, as they started with a stunning win against Rangers International of Enugu.
The soft-spoken tactician stressed that becoming the first team to win a record eight titles of the Nigerian league is a result of hard work from all his players, plus adequate support from the club’s management.
He went on to give words of gratitude as well to the Aba outfit’s top brass echlon, the officials, his assitant coaches and their teeming fans, who he said all mad eit possible for Enyimba to be crowned champs.
Abdallah concluded: “I am very happy, most especially for the boys. I praise them for theirn efforts and determination.
“I am also grateful to our club’s management for how they backed us up fully, and to the fans for supporting us all the way.
“I must not forget my assistant coaches and the officials who work for us when we are in the pitch playing matches or training. They all did well.”
