EPL: 3 Teams Confirm Champions League qualification after Arsenal lose to Newcastle

Date:

Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea, on Monday night, confirmed their spots in next season’s Champions League.

This followed Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat at Newcastle United.

A Ben White own goal and Bruno Guimaeres finish saw the Magpies stun Mikel Arteta’s men at St James’ Park.

City and Liverpool had broken away from the rest of the chasing pack for most of the season.

But the result means Chelsea will finish in third spot ahead of Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.

Spurs will take the final Champions League spot if they win at relegated Norwich City this Sunday.
