EPL: Aribo to work under new coach at Southampton

Date:

Super Eagles midfielder, Joe Aribo will now work under new coach at Southampton following the sack of Ralph Hasenhuttl on Monday.

Hasenhuttl has spent the last three seasons at St Mary’s but the Saints have now decided to call time on his stay after a series of poor results.

Southampton confirmed Hasenhuttl’s departure via a statement on their official website.

“Southampton Football Club can confirm it has parted company with Men’s First Team Manager Ralph Hasenhüttl. First Team Assistant Coach Richard Kitzbichler has also today left the club,” reads the statement.

First-team coach, Ruben Selles will now take charge of the team on an interim basis pending the appointment of a substantive manager.

Aribo, who only linked up with Southampton from Rangers last summer scored twice in 14 Premier League games under the Austrian.

Southampton currently occupies 18th position on the table with three wins, three draws and eight defeats from 14 league games.
