EPL: Arsenal go top of table after narrow 2-1 win over Brentford

Arsenal have gone top of the Premier League table for at least 24 hours, following a battling 2-1 win over Brentford.

The Gunners came into the looking to claim their eighth consecutive victory in 2024.

Declan Rice gave the hosts a deserved lead in the first half, stooping to head in Ben White’s cross.

However, just before the break, Aaron Ramsdale’s error allowed Yoane Wissa equalize for the Bees.

In the late moments of the game, White’s cross found Kai Havertz in the box and he headed in the winner.

Arsenal now have 64 points, one more than Liverpool and two ahead of Manchester City.

Liverpool welcome City in Sunday’s late kick-off.
