Chelsea boss Graham Potter has said he was frustrated over N’Golo Kante’s absence from the team.
However, he’s wary of bringing Kante back too soon from injury.
Potter said, “It is what it is. There’s nothing we can do, the injury happened and now it’s about trying to get him back fit and get him ready as we can so he can sustain a period of play. He’s been a bit in and out with injuries over a period of time, so we have to make sure when he’s back, he’s back for good. Strong and enjoying his football. There’s no frustration, just something we have to deal with.
“The welfare of the player is important, I don’t want to take a risk with that. I understand you have to take some decisions but from my perspective I want to make sure a player is safe, ready, ready to play consistently over a period of time. That’s the best way to build a relationship with them and to get them back stronger, enjoying their football.”
