Former Liverpool and Barcelona attacker, Luis Suarez, has named Manchester City’s Erling Haaland as the best number 9 in the world currently.
Suarez said this while congratulating Haaland for his brilliant performance during Man City’s Premier League derby 6-3 win over Manchester United on Sunday.
Haaland netted a hat-trick to ensure Pep Guardiola’s side defeated Man United at Etihad Stadium.
Reacting to Haaland’s brilliant performance, Suarez took to Instagram to hail the Norwegian impact during the game.
The Uruguay star wrote in the comments section after Haaland posted a photo of his meditating celebration on Instagram: “Congratulations my friend! Amazing game for you! Best number 9 at the moment.”
