Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta has hailed his Brazilian import, Marquinhos as a very popular player even without a sound knowledge of the English Language.
Marquinhos was signed by the Gunners this summer and impressed in his Arsenal debut against FC Zurich last week.
Marquinhos was handed an opportunity to impress against Swiss opposition and he took the chance perfectly well, scoring after just 12 minutes.
He also laid on the winning goal for Eddie Nketiah with a pinpoint cross.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s game against Brentford Arteta told reporters, “I was looking more at the faces of the rest of the staff and players,” after Marquinhos scored his goal and his emotional celebration.
“He’s a player that is very popular, with no English, just with his smile and attitude has won the respect and admiration of everybody here.”
