EPL: How Ronaldo blocked Man Utd from replacing Solskjaer with Conte

Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, blocked the club from bringing in Antonio Conte earlier in the season.

According to MEN, Conte was considered for the manager’s role, after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked in November.

However, the Italian ended up moving to Tottenham Hotspur instead and helped spearhead the club back to the Champions League.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils opted to bring in Ralf Rangnick on an interim basis until the end of the campaign, before appointing Erik ten Hag.

It is understood United chose not to hire Conte because of Ronaldo.

The club’s hierarchy consulted the big players in the squad when it came to their new boss, with Ronaldo then ‘blocking’ Conte.
