Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has written his name in Premier League history, becoming the Nigerian with the most appearances in the competition.
The Fulham star achieved the feat in his 299th league outing during Saturday’s 1–0 defeat to Arsenal at Craven Cottage.

With this appearance, Iwobi surpassed the long-standing record of 288 Premier League matches previously held by Newcastle United legend Shola Ameobi, a benchmark that had remained unchallenged for 11 years.
According to Bold Sports on Saturday, despite Fulham’s defeat, it was a memorable occasion for the 29-year-old midfielder, who achieved the feat against the club where he made his Premier League debut.
Iwobi’s 299 appearances come from three clubs: 149 for Arsenal, 140 for Everton, and 85 for Fulham, including the game against Arsenal
