EPL: Jamie Carragher names club to finish top four after Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool

Date:

Jamie Carragher has made his Premier League top-four prediction following Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool on Wednesday night.

The prestigious Champions League spot is being keenly contested by Arsenal in fourth place, Manchester United in fifth, West Ham in sixth and Tottenham in seventh, all separated by minor points.

In recent weeks, Mikel Arteta’s side have emerged as the favourites to clinch that position but their six-match unbeaten run was brought to an end by title-chasing Liverpool.

Second-half goals from Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino gave Jurgen Klopp’s side a ninth successive win.

Arsenal still have at least one game in hand over all of their nearest rivals, and Carragher expects them to finish fourth.

“The fight for Arsenal is to get into the top-four,” he told Sky Sports.

“Forgot Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City Arsenal’s results have been poor against them[the three top teams mention]…[but] they [Arsenal] are a better team than United and Spurs. I think Arsenal will just do it.”
