Manchester City are confident the groin injury sustained by Erling Haaland on international duty with Norway is not serious.
The Premier League top scorer is facing a race to be fit for City’s clash with Liverpool on Saturday, April 1 after being ruled out of Norway’s two fixtures due to a groin problem.
However, City manager Pep Guardiola could still be able to select his star striker for the home clash with Jurgen Klopp’s side in what is a must-win game for both sides.
City are planning to test Haaland’s injury further upon his return to Manchester, but have been encouraged by the striker leaving international duty as a precaution rather than playing and making the injury worse.
For the moment, Haaland has not been ruled out for the Liverpool tie.
