Premier League side Manchester United are ready to submit an offer for Botafogo goalkeeper John Victor as a potential replacement for the injured André Onana.
The Red Devils have also held talks over a summer move for Aston Villa’s Emi Martinez, with the Argentine reportedly open to joining Old Trafford.
But Ruben Amorim’s side aren’t prepared to meet Aston Villa’s £40m asking price for Martinez.
As a result, Man United are in the summer market for a new goalkeeper because of Onana’s inconsistent displays since joining the club in 2023 from Inter Milan.

Onana will also miss Man United’s pre-season campaign because of a hamstring injury he picked up recently.
The Cameroon shot-stopper is also a doubt for Man United’s Premier League opener against Arsenal in August.
However, according to Goal Brazil, Man United have now told Botafogo that they are willing to trigger the £6m release clause in Victor’s contract.
The report added that the Brazilian club are already preparing for Victor’s departure from the team as they have identified Atletico Mineiro’s Matheus Mendes as his potential replacement.
