Everton boss Sean Dyche has said his senior midfielders can lift Andre Onana to new heights.
Abdoulaye Doucoure and Idrissa Gueye impressed in victory over Leeds on Saturday.
Onana was substituted late in the game and Dyche later explained he had been dealing with a knee issue that would be assessed further but which he believed was “manageable”.
After the game he reflected on the performances of the two players alongside Onana in Everton’s midfield and said: “Ama will learn from them two because if I am Ama today I am looking at them and thinking ‘wow, these put a shift in, and they can play’.
“That is part of his learning curve. He is only a young player learning and earning his spurs so he will learn from them without a shadow of a doubt – as will other players.”
