EPL: Potter had enough time with Chelsea, says Mikel Obi

Former Chelsea player John Obi Mikel has laughed at the idea of Graham Potter coaching the club when Roman Abramovich was the owner.

Mikel was asked about Potter’s failed spell at the Premier League club this season.

Many fans felt that if Abramovich was still in charge, he would have never appointed Potter and at the very least sacked him sooner.

Speaking to the Dubai Eye radio station, Mikel stated: “When you look at that, was he given enough time?

“I think so. I think where you look at where the club is now, what is it, 11th in the table?

“So when you look at it, I think he’s been given enough time. If it was the Roman Abramovich era…’

“So was he given enough time? I think the club made the right decision.”
