EPL: Premier League giants, Liverpool up for sale

The Athletic quoted a statement from the club’s owners, FSG as saying, “There have been a number of recent changes of ownership and rumours of changes in ownership at EPL clubs and inevitably we are asked regularly about Fenway Sports Group’s ownership in Liverpool.

“FSG has frequently received expressions of interest from third parties seeking to become shareholders in Liverpool.

FSG has said before that under the right terms and conditions we would consider new shareholders if it was in the best interests of Liverpool as a club.

FSG said they remain fully committed to the success of the club, both on and off the pitch.

Liverpool has won the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup in the past five years under the current manager, Jurgen Klopp.

The Red Devils, have, however, struggled this season, currently sitting eighth in the Premier League table, having collected just 19 points from 13 matches their poorest accumulation in recent years.

The Merseyside giants bounce back from their recent defeats to Nottingham Forest and Leeds United to beat Tottenham 2-1 in the Premier League on Sunday.
