Manchester United interim manager, Ralf Rangnick, has given the reason why Cristiano Ronaldo will not feature against Leicester City in Saturday’s late kick-off.
Ronaldo’s name was conspicuously missing in the starting XI released at Old Trafford.
The 37-year-old also didn’t report to The Lowry Hotel with the rest of the squad last night.
Rangnick has confirmed the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is out with illness.
“He had flu symptoms before training yesterday and he wasn’t feeling well enough to train.
“We sent our doctor to his house this morning to see if he was feeling better, but that was not the case,” Rangnick said.
