Cristiano Ronaldo’s relationship with new Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has hit rock bottom, with the player “furious” over his public criticism.
On Wednesday, Ten Hag said it was “unacceptable” that Ronaldo and some of his teammates left Old Trafford early during last Sunday’s friendly against Rayo Vallecano.
It was Ronaldo’s first pre-season game for the Red Devils and he was taken off at halftime.
The 37-year-old was then pictured leaving the stadium before the final whistle.
“We are a team and that means you stay until the end.
“This is unacceptable, for all those involved,” Ten Hag told Viaplay.
The Daily Star reports Ronaldo is angry with Ten Hag’s comments and now wants to leave Manchester United more than ever.
The Portugal captain informed United of his desire to leave earlier in the summer as he is desperate to play in the Champions League.
