Chelsea have reportedly shown an interest in signing forward Sadio Mane from Bayern Munich.
Bayern Munich are surprisingly planning to sell Mane just a year after signing him from Chelsea’s Premier League rival Liverpool for €32m.
According to Sport Bild’s Christian Falk, Chelsea have emerged as a surprise contender for the signing of Mane.
Moreover, the Blues might not have to try hard as Bayern Munich are looking for a potential buyer.
Mane’s first season in Germany has not gone to plan and he has failed to recapture the form that he showed for Liverpool during his time in England.
The Senegalese international has scored just 12 goals in 35 matches across competitions for Bayern this season.
The 31-year-old was also involved in a heated altercation with teammate Leroy Sane, even reportedly punching him after their team’s Champions League defeat to Manchester City.
Chelsea, meanwhile, have struggled for goals this season and are in search of prolific scorers to sign this summer. Mane, who still has two years remaining on his contract with Bayern, has thus emerged as one of the many options the West London club are looking to sign.
