EPL: Saliba can’t learn anything from you – William Gallas tells Arsenal’s player

Arsenal’s former defender, William Gallas, has said that young defender, William Saliba cannot learn anything from his defence partner at the club, Gabriel. .

Saliba withstood the pressure from one of Premier League’s best strikers, Harry Kane in what was seen as arguably the biggest test of his Premier League career to date.

Comparing Saliba and his more established partner, Gabriel, the Brazilian delivered a rather less impressive display and gave away a rash penalty that led to Tottenham’s leveller through Harry Kane.

Gallas, who spent four seasons at the Emirates between 2006 and 2010, told Casino, “He [Saliba] can become one of the top defenders.

The Arsenal and Chelsea star said Saliba still needs a defender of higher experience to help the youngster and take him to an even higher level.

“Sometimes you need to learn from someone and at the moment, he doesn’t have that at Arsenal,” he told Casino.

“I think Gabriel is playing well. He plays with a lot of intensity and is improving, but Saliba can’t learn from him.

“Saliba needs an experienced player next to him and he will become even better. I love what he is doing for Arsenal.”

Arsenal scored three past Antonio Conte’s Spurs on Saturday to tighten their grip on the top of the Premier League table with Manchester City breathing down their neck.
