Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has hit out at criticism of Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag.
United lost the Manchester derby 6-3 to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
The Red Devils were unable to put up a serious fight in the game, going into the half-time interval 4-0 down.
“The idea that Erik ten Hag got it wrong yesterday by not playing Ronaldo is laughable!” Carragher wrote on Twitter in reference to ten Hag being criticized by pundits for not starting Cristiano Ronaldo in the game.
“Ronaldo played at Brentford when it was 4-0 at half-time.
“It’s not a dig at Cristiano Ronaldo, but Rashford’s pace on the counter attack as we saw vs. Arsenal [and] Liverpool was the best option.”
