EPL: Ten Hag names players who helped Man Utd defeated Southampton

Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag, has identified the seven players who helped his team defeat Southampton in Saturday’s Premier League tie.

According to Ten Hag, the likes of David de Gea, Tyrell Malacia, Diogo Dalot, Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Scott McTominay and Christian Eriksen performed really well for Man United against Southampton.

Man United defeated Southampton 1-0 at St. Mary’s Stadium following Bruno Fernandes’ goal.

Speaking at his post-match press conference after the game, Ten Hag told reporters: “I think we defend as a team, I was quite happy with most of it, I saw room for improvement, the back four was a real unit with David de Gea, togetherness, but also the two in front, Scott [McTominay] and [Christian] Eriksen, did that really well. It’s a team performance.”

Man United’s next fixture is against Southampton on September 1 at the King Power Stadium.
