EPL: Ten Hag picks six leaders in Man Utd squad after 3-1 loss to Aston Villa

Date:

Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, has revealed his team’s six leaders in the dressing room following the Red Devils’ Premier League 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday.

Ten Hag watched as Man United lost to Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Speaking at a post-match press conference (via Manchester Evening News), Ten Hag said that the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes, David de Gea, Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro are all leaders.

“It’s about Harry Maguire being on the bench. Bruno is our captain, not available, and then it’s about David de Gea: leader, but goalie is far away from the outfield,” Ten Hag said.

“Licha [Martinez] can be a leader, Casemiro is not speaking 100% perfect English, and then Cristiano is the leader. Especially [he] is the leader of the team, so he has the band clear.”

Man United’s next fixture is against Aston Villa in the EFL Cup on Thursday.
