New Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, has been impressed by Charlie Savage and Zidane Iqbal since he took over, the UK Mirror reports.
Savage and Iqbal have both won places on United’s pre-season tour of the Far East and Australia.
They were part of the 28-man squad that flew out of the UK on Friday, after catching Ten Hag’s eye in the first week of training.
Savage and Iqbal made their debut as late substitutes against Young Boys in the Champions League group stage last season.
Ten Hag has told the players they would be picked on merit, not reputation. And Savage and fellow midfielder Iqbal are the first to gain his confidence.
Alejandro Garnacho will also be involved in pre-season after making his debut last season, while Amad has made the trip after returning from a loan spell at Rangers.
